Lempi Knits was born during my parental leave with my first child, from a love of knitting, little ones, and the everyday moments that make up childhood. I completely fell in love with my baby, and my creativity ran wild as I started designing knitted clothes for him.

I design knitting patterns for babies and young children. The designs are soft, timeless and, above all, made for real life. At the heart of each design is the child, and creating pieces that make it easy for little ones to play, move and grow. I pay attention to the small details that make a garment comfortable for a child and enjoyable to knit for an adult, too. It is wonderful when children can be part of making their own knits. Even young children can take part by choosing their favourite color or the yarn their knit will be made from. This way, a knitted piece can become something the child has had a part in creating.

Lempi is a Finnish word that means something or someone dear, beloved or especially cherished. The knits by Lempi Knits are, true to the name, made for the little ones who are dearest to us. I hope the patterns bring joy to your knitting moments and that the finished pieces become part of the small and big moments of childhood: outdoor adventures, playtime, first steps, cuddles and all those ordinary days that later become cherished memories. Above all, I hope you enjoy the moments you share and the things you create together with a little one.
